Wine & Dine

Get a taste of Cayuga County !

Cayuga County and the Finger Lakes Region are famous for their fresh fruits, herbs, vegetables and dairy products. The fertile soil and gentle climate provide farmers with near ideal growing conditions for a wide variety of produce including strawberries, sweet corn, apples, potatoes, tomatoes, and squash. Our apple cider, corn-on-the cob, salt potatoes, and local cheeses are not to be missed!

Look for the Finger Lakes Culinary Bounty logo as you travel through the Finger Lakes. It let's you know that participating restaurants and their chefs are using the freshest and finest quality products from local farms. The Old Erie Restaurant and Restaurant at Elderberry Pond both participate in the Finger Lakes Culinary Bounty program and feature home grown produce.

To go along with your meal, you'll want a glass (or two!) of our world famous wines. Cayuga County boasts six wineries and the new Amberg Wine Cellars tasting room at the Fingerlakes Mall.

For a real 'hands on' experience, shop our farm stands and farmers' markets or select your own fruits and vegetables at the many U-picks throughout Cayuga County. Festivals celebrate our harvests throughout the summer and fall. 'TomatoFest,' the King Ferry Winery 'Harvest Festival' and the Cayuga County Fair, all pay homage to our agricultural richness.
