Produced by upstate NY’s most popular professional theater - Merry-Go-Round Playhouse. Tap dancer Dustin “Toes” MacGrath, and pianist Tristan “Fingers” St. Claire have managed to talk a major Broadway producer into coming to see their show in two weeks: a boy meets girl tap dance spectacular on the theme of love. But there’s a problem: first, they haven’t written it yet, secondly they don’t have a girl, and sadly, they have no idea whatsoever about love. As the deadline approaches, everything becomes swept up in a series of dazzling numbers and comical scenes as their theme “Love” begins to derail the show. A deliriously delightful and genuinely funny love-letter to the old-fashioned “let’s put on a show”. Call for tickets Mon-Fri 10am-5pm.

On that date, French officials and police, not Germans, rounded up 13,000 of the city’s Jews and herded them together for days in horrible conditions in one of the city’s indoor bicycle-racing tracks before dispatching them first to a transit camp and finally to Auschwitz. Auburn Public Theater, 8 Exchange Street

’The Help’ is an excellent adaptation of the bestselling novel about an unlikely rebellion in a Southern town in the 1960s among black maids serving white families and one white woman who wants them to tell their life stories. ’The Help’ is a delicious peppery stew of home-cooked, 1960s Southern-style racism that serves up a soulful dish of what ails us and what heals us. Laughter, which is ladled on thick as gravy, proves to be the secret ingredient — turning what should be a feel-bad movie about those troubled times into a heart-warming surprise. Tickets $5, 1/20 - 1:00 & 8:00pm, 1/21 8:00pm.

A film that is marvelously romantic, even though — or precisely because — it acknowledges the disappointment that shadows every genuine expression of romanticism. The film has the inspired silliness of some of Mr. Allen’s classic comic sketches (most obviously, “A Twenties Memory,” in which the narrator’s nose is repeatedly broken by Ernest Hemingway), spiked with the rueful fatalism that has characterized so much of his later work. 2/3 1 & 8pm, 2/4, 8pm.
