Alaska Governor Sarah Palin Celebrates 50th Anniversary of Alaska’s Statehood in Parade and Celebration at Seward House Museum, June 6
Auburn, NY– June 3, 2009–The first annual Founder’s Day event will take place on Saturday, June 6, 2009 and feature special guest Governor of Alaska, Sarah Palin. Founder’s Day celebrates the founding of the City of Auburn and some of its most influential citizens. For 2009, the City will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the statehood of Alaska. The City has always enjoyed a special connection with our 49th state due to the instrumental role that William H. Seward, one of Auburn’s most famous native sons, played in the United States’ purchase of the Alaska territory.
The schedule of events is as follows: 11:00 a.m.–Parade through downtown Auburn with Governor Palin 12:00 – 1:00 p.m.–Public Addresses on the steps of City Hall featuring guest speaker Governor Sarah Palin 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. –“Seward Salutes Alaska” garden party at Seward House Museum. Special guest, Governor of Alaska, Sarah Palin, to make remarks
