The Auburn-Fleming Trail follows a two-mile stretch of abandoned railroad bed along a network of streams and wetlands. Easy trail access on Dunning Avenue.
This 25-acre preserve, only yards from Skaneateles Lake, treats hikers to a dramatic view of the 100-foot deep Bear Swamp Creek Ravine. The trail also a good spot to beach a canoe or kayak before hiking up the ridge trail.

Running from Cato to Fair Haven, this multi-use trail traverses woodlands, farmlands and wetlands. The trail connects the town of Cato and the Village of Fair Haven along 14 miles of abandoned Lehigh Valley Railroad bed. A feature is the Cato Station, situated at the head of the trail in the village of Cato. Hiking, biking, horseback riding, cross-county skiing and snowmobiling are encouraged on the trail. ATV use allowed from 4/15 - 10/1.
This historic canal tow path is a recreational trail for hikers, bicyclists, horseback riders and, in winter, snowmobilers. It traverses the county from the village of Jordan to the Seneca River. High points include carved stone locks, the Centerport Aqueduct, Lock 52 (west of Port Byron) and Richmond Aqueduct (west of the Sencea River). Access to the trail is in Weedsport behind Arby's on the north side of Route 31.
With gorges at its south end, vineyards on its gentle slopes and marshes at its north end, the Cayuga Lake Scenic Byway features diverse landscapes and spectacular views. A tour around its 87 miles will take you through charming historic villages, by scenic waterfalls, parks and farmland, and to unique lodging, dining, shopping, wineries, college campuses and more. Enjoy the ride on Cayuga Lake's Scenic Byway every season of the year.
This 157-acre nature preserve along the Lake Como outlet is owned and operated by the Finger Lakes Land Trust. Situated in a high plateau pocket running from Locke to Homer, the preserve features a number of plants uncommon to the region and some of the highest breeding bird diversity in the state.

Offering passenger services along the Finger Lakes Railway with special excursions sponsored by local organizations. Excursions include many annual trips, as well as weekday excursions for groups, private excursion opportunities, commuter runs to special events, and themed train rides like the Santa Train, Pumpkin Express, Blues-n-Brews, Wine and Cheese, or Fall Foliage Trains.
Passenger excursions generally operate from April through December on certain weekday and weekends.

This off-road, multi-use trail extends throught the Town of Sterling along an abondoned railroad ben. Permitted uses include hiking, biking, horseback riding, cross-country skiing and snowmobiling. The Hojack Trail extends west into Wayne County and east into Oswego County. ATV use allowed from 4/15 -10/1 from Oswego to Cato.

Summer Hill State Forest encompasses 4,355 acres of dense forest land and is located in the town of Locke, Sempronius and Summer Hill in Southern Cayuga County. Some of the more popular recreational activities include snowmobiling, cross country skiing, hiking, hunting, trapping, wildlife viewing, and informal horseback riding.
