Must SeesProfessional Theater at the Merry-Go-Round Playhouse
You know it’s summer when the Merry-Go-Round Playhouse raises its curtain and the orchestra begins to play! The 2007 season begins with “Miss Saigon”, May 30-June 21; followed by “Peter Pan”, June 27-July 20; “Thoroughly Modern Millie”, July 25-August 17; and "Ain’t Misbehavin” August 22 – September 8. It really feels like “Broadway in the Finger Lakes” at the Merry-Go-Round Playhouse. Seward House (featured photo), Willard Memorial Chapel and Harriet Tubman Home Summer is the season that some of our Finger Lakes mansions open their splendid gardens to the public. William H. Seward’s home in Auburn displays the lifetime collections and gardens of the former New York State Governor and Secretary of State under Presidents Lincoln and Johnson. Seward is best known for his work to purchase Alaska, then known as “Seward’s Folly." Every year the Seward House hosts a ‘Garden Party’ in July complete with ‘living history’ players in period costume. Charming villages of Aurora and Fair Haven.
