Bassmaster Elite at Cayuga Lake

August 21-24, 2014

108 Bassmaster Elite Series pros will be heading to Union Springs on Cayuga Lake, one of New York’s famous Finger Lakes, August 21-24 for the A.R.E. Truck Caps Bassmaster Elite series.  At Cayuga Lake, the final of eight full-field events this season, each Elite series pro has a shot at a first-place prize of $100,000 and an automatic qualification for the 2015 Bassmaster Classic.

Cayuga Lake is a first-time stop for the Elite Series and the deep glacial lake (up to 435 feet) is great habitat for largemouth bass, which will be the target species for the anglers.

Fishing fans are invited to the free-admission Bassmasters event to see takeoffs and weigh-ins at Frontenac Park, 26 Chapel Street, Union Springs, NY.  The pros will leave the docks beginning at 6:15 a.m. and start time for weigh-ins will be 3:15 p.m.    For more information on the event visit bassmaster.com/elite.

In addition, the Union Springs Chamber of Commerce will be holding a free four-day festival at Frontenac Park during the event with great music, food and family fun for all.  For Festival information visit www.fishcayuga.com.

The Bassmasters TV show on ESPN2 will feature the event on Sunday, September 28, 2014 in the 2:30-3:30 time slot.
