The days are getting shorter and the nights are getting cooler. It’s obviously a sign that fall is on the way.

With the arrival of fall, lakes and other waterways in Cayuga County are getting void of pleasure boaters. This in turn leaves area waters more open for anglers.

The coming of fall with its cooler air and water temps, jump start fish into feeding before the winter slow down period.

Autumn Harvest in the Finger Lakes

One of the best times to visit Cayuga County and the Finger Lakes is during the autumn harvest, when you can sample, pick and buy the freshest produce and enjoy the glorious fall foliage for which the region is so well known. You can even become part of the harvesting process by picking your own apples and pumpkins or stomping grapes.
