Winter is over! It’s time to get outside and play in the dirt as a Junior Ranger Archeologist. In partnership with the Harriet Tubman Home, park rangers and archeologists will guide participants through their own archeological “dig,” reconstruct their discoveries, and record their findings and observations. At 11:00 AM, join an archeologist for a tour to examine artifacts discovered on site, now on display in the park’s visitor center, to learn what they can tell us about the life of Harriet Tubman. Young visitors completing the Junior Ranger Archeologist Program will be presented with a National Park Service Junior Ranger Patch. Additional activities include the opportunity to complete a Network to Freedom Junior Ranger Book to earn a Network to Freedom Junior Ranger badge. Web activities for young visitors are available at www.nps.gov/webrangers/.
