Step back in time with Fanny Seward, the youngest daughter of Secretary of State William Seward, for a first-hand look at history. Based on the diaries kept by Fanny during the Civil War era, this one-act play reveals an American girl living through an extraordinary time. Her unique perspective brings the audience into the Lincoln White House and the highest reaches of power in the Union government. Yet it also chronicles the familiar everyday experiences of a teenager growing up and encountering the world. Props and costumes inspired by the Seward House Museum collections and a post-play, interactive Q&A session will make this performance a truly special experience. An original one-woman show, written and performed by Maria Coleman. Main Stage.
