Festivities for every holiday!

Every holiday is a reason to celebrate and Cayuga County has a long tradition of making each one special. From Memorial Day to Fourth of July to Christmas we find a way to make the most of every holiday season.

Everyone loves a parade and Cayuga County celebrates Memorial Day in Auburn and Weedsport with parades that create all the fanfare that this holiday deserves.  Memorial Day services, barbecues, pancake breakfasts and more happen throughout the County to celebrate this special day.

Fourth of July weekend means fireworks galore in Auburn and Fair Haven plus plenty of places in between.  One of the biggest displays happens at Emerson Park just south of Auburn on Owasco Lake on July 3rd.   Enjoy music and a picnic before the breathtaking display over the water starts at dusk.   The Village of Fair Haven on Lake Ontario celebrates Fourth of July with a Mile Long Parade, chicken BBQ, live entertainment and of course fireworks!

The fall brings a cornucopia of harvest events and Halloween celebrations.  The Seward House Museum in Auburn presents their Haunted History Tours with costumed guides that share spooky accounts and terrifying-yet-true stories, an eerie experience you won’t want to miss!

And no one celebrates the Christmas season like Cayuga County.  Special events and celebrations happen throughout the month of December.  Be sure to stop by the Ward O’Hara Agricultural & Country Living Museum for their annual Festival of Trees, featuring more than 100 decorated trees – a real sight to behold.
