Celebrate Earth Day 2021 & help provide some spring cleaning for the Owasco River in downtown Auburn. Volunteers are asked to meet by the Mill Street Dam or where Canal Street intersects with Osborne Street. Bring your own gloves and rakes. This event is sponsored by the Auburn Beautification Commission, Cayuga Climate Action, The Auburn Downtown Business Improvement District (BID), and the City of Auburn.

Despite the many difficult changes from the COVID-19 pandemic, one thing did not change– the Erie Canalway Trail continued to be a lifeline for many people across the state. The Canalway Trail witnessed a record 4 million visits in 2020; however, that means it will need some TLC to get ready for the next influx of visitors this spring!

The Sterling Nature Center's annual spring beach clean-up is your opportunity to think about the global environment and act locally to help make a difference. Join other volunteers to help clean-up the Lake Ontario shoreline; bags and gloves will be available, but you are welcome to bring your own. Remember to dress for the weather and that the lakeshore can be cooler and windier this time of year.
