The Frontenac Historical Society was founded on March 21, 1974, by nine members of the Springport Bicentennial Committee who saw a need for increased awareness of local history. Within a year, this active organization was offering programs and speakers of general interest, researching local genealogy and had begun a collection of artifacts of local interest for a planned museum. The collections were opened for tours in October of 1976.
As always, admission is free and donations are appreciated.
