Congratulations to the 2023 Harriet Tubman Events Grant Recipients

May 11, 2023 – Auburn, NY: The Cayuga County Tourism Office is very excited to announce the recipients of the Harriet Tubman Inspired Events Grant! For the second year now, in the spirit of Harriet Tubman’s Legacy, we asked local businesses and organizations to come up with an event, activity or performance that would educate, entertain, inspire and promote Harriet Tubman’s life and legacy.

We were very pleased, honored and overwhelmed with the response.  These events offer unique and special opportunities to visitors and residents alike, while some bring national voices to our communities. There have been such creative ideas presented  and we are looking forward to many great events celebrating Harriet Tubman’s Legacy and highlighting black history in Cayuga County.

Karen Kuhl, Executive Director of the Cayuga County Office of Touism said,  “Harriet Tubman’s Legacy lives on in each of the organizations that have included programming in her honor. We look forward to promoting all these events and encourage everyone to attend.”
