Cayuga County, NY (January 2026) — The Cayuga County Office of Tourism invites locals and visitors to slow down and savor winter with Hibercation, a seasonal campaign that is part hibernation, part vacation, and 100% good for the soul. Running January 15 through March 15, Hibercation encourages travelers to step away from the rush of everyday life and lean into a cozy, wellness-inspired escape that feels restful, indulgent, and unrushed.
Hibercation is built around a simple idea: you set the pace, doing as much or as little as you want. Whether that means sleeping in, lingering over a warm meal, browsing unique shops, or taking a quiet winter walk, Cayuga County offers the perfect setting for a “reset” that fits any style of traveler.
In 2026, 24 local businesses are participating with Hibercation specials designed to make a winter getaway easier to plan and more rewarding. Visitors will find lodging packages and seasonal rates, plus food and drink features, retail specials, and self-care experiences across the county.
Places to Stay
Participating lodging partners include a mix of boutique suites, familiar hotels, and memorable stays, including 34 State, Hilton Garden Inn Auburn, Holiday Inn Auburn, Finger Lakes Luxury Rentals, Sparbuck on Owasco Lake, Cozy MacKenzie House, and Abby’s Tiny Houses. Several lodging offers include welcome gifts or added-value perks to help guests settle in and truly unwind.
Food and Drink
Cayuga County’s winter comfort continues at local restaurants, breweries, wineries, and specialty food shops. Hibercation specials this year include seasonal features and savings at places such as Prison City Brewery, Potters Farm to Fork, Auburn Bagel Company, Sweets by Sarah Bakery, Izzo’s White Barn Winery, Taste of NY, Rowan’s Bar & Grill, Turtle Cove, and Combgrown Mead.
