Dave O’Dell, former manager of the Refuge will talk about the 10,000-acre preserve, which is a stopping point for migratory birds. President Franklin D. Roosevelt signed an executive order establishing the bird refuge on September 12, 1938. It became a national monument in 1973. All programs are open to the public without charge. Refreshments are served. Donations are appreciated.
