Cayuga County Tourism Office Launches Its Annual “Hibercation” Campaign

January 9, 2023 – Auburn, NY: Cayuga County is once again inviting residents and visitors alike to enjoy some guilt-free downtime while they escape the day-to-day pressures of work and home. In partnership with local businesses, the Cayuga County Office of Tourism is offering a fresh take on the cozy winter getaway through its annual “hibercation” campaign.

Experts agree that when you take time away from the stresses of work and daily life, you improve both your physical and mental health. This philosophy is what lies at the heart of hibercation. After a hectic holiday season, we encourage you to treat yourself or a special someone in your life to a well-deserved getaway. We invite you to embrace the spirit of relaxation and to indulge in wellness-inspired travel.

This campaign, which runs until March, offers special hotel and brewery packages designed to encourage people to embrace hibercation in whatever way feels best to them. Enjoy the luxury of a cozy hotel room, binge-watch TV, dine out, enjoy a glass of wine, a mug of hot cocoa, or a pint of beer. A hibercation offers you the opportunity to do as much or as little as you want.

We are thrilled with how creative our partners have been this year. Local lodging establishments including 34 State, the MacKenzie House, Finger Lakes Luxury Rentals, Sparbuck, and the Hilton Garden Inn are offering special hibercation packages—complete with a welcome gift! Local breweries, shops, and spas have also put together specials designed to create the perfect cozy getaway. This winter, we’re encouraging everyone to embark on a hibercation so they can get out, hunker down, and relax in Cayuga County.
