Cayuga County Office of Tourism Announces Its Public Relations Manager

July, 2023 – Auburn, NY: Earlier this month, the Cayuga County Office of Tourism welcomed its newest staff member, Ash Murray, into its ranks. With Ash stepping into the role of Public Relations Manager, the office’s small but mighty team is now five strong.

A recent graduate from Syracuse University, Ash brings a fresh perspective to the team—especially in areas of diversity, equity, and inclusion. Previously, Ash has served as an editorial intern with Syracuse University’s Department of Marketing & Communications, where they were instrumental in updating the university’s in-house style guide to better serve the campus’s growing inclusivity initiatives.

From there, Ash spent a year with Horizons Foundation—an LGBTQ non-profit based out of San Francisco—where she served as a public relations and editorial intern, further developing her skillset and commitment to inclusive media.

Now, as they take on the new position of Public Relations Manager, Ash will spearhead all internal and external communications for the Cayuga County Office of Tourism. Given Ash’s unique background in diversity initiatives, she holds a special focus on the office’s continued commitment to promoting the county as an accessible and inclusive travel destination.

By welcoming a fifth team member, the office further positions itself as a driving force in Cayuga County’s tourism industry, allowing for increased and renewed focus on driving adventure within the county.
