As a child, I’ve always had a deep love for live theatre, whether it’s musicals, dramas, opera, dance, or ballet – I enjoy them all! The thrill of being transported to another world and time has always fascinated me. Now, as a grandmother, I’m thrilled to introduce my grandchildren to the magic of theatre. Witnessing their faces light up with wonder during a live performance is truly priceless. Recently, my 6-year-old grandson attended his first show and humorously described theatre as an exciting movie with real people. Here’s another delightful story to share: A few years back, I took my granddaughter to see Rogers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella. During the performance, she overheard me pondering how Cinderella’s transformation happened so quickly, to which she sweetly replied, “Grandma, it’s magic.” Indeed, theatre truly is magical!
Here in Cayuga County, we are lucky to be home to a nationally recognized theatre company, The REV.
The REV is a professional regional theatre company, that features Broadway caliber musical productions at the Merry-Go Round Playhouse. The playhouse is located in Emerson Park on one of the Finger Lakes: Owasco Lake in Auburn NY.

The season opens June 5 with Jersey Boys. Take a behind the scenes look at Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons. Enjoy hits such as “Sherry”, “Walk Like a Man” and more! Tickets are selling fast for this show!
Newsies( July 10-27) is next followed by Bandstand (August 14-31) and closing with the regional premiere of May We All, a new country musical.

Inspired by the real-life Newsboys Strike of 1899, Newsies celebrates the power of the human spirit!
Winner of two Tony awards for Best Score and Best Choreography, Newsies is perfect for the entire family and a spectacular example of Broadway song and dance at its best.
August 14-31
It’s 1945 and our boys are coming home!
Featuring incredible music and the sounds of swing, jitterbug and big band and sizzling choreography, Bandstand is a patriotic tribute to our veterans and the nostalgia of the 1940’s.
September 18-October 5
A new country music musical! May We All brings together several storylines about facing the music, rebuilding and starting over. Featuring the music of Florida Georgia Line, Kenny Chesney, Miranda Lambert, Dolly Parton, Little Big Town, Old Dominion, Brooks & Dunn, Keith Urban, and many more. A homespun show for the entire family.
