Tour Cayuga to Host Media Event for International Underground Railroad Month

September, 2023 – Auburn, NY: This week, the Cayuga County Office of Tourism announced that it will be hosting a media event on Saturday, September 23 in honor of International Underground Railroad Month. Held at the Equal Rights Heritage Center, this event will feature remarks from several notable individuals:

The event will be attended by travel writers from across the United States who are being hosted by the tourism office as part of a larger trip honoring Harriet Tubman’s legacy and the history of the Underground Railroad in Cayuga County. This event will also be attended by members of Tour Cayuga’s DEI committee and Board of Directors, tourism ambassadors, and DEI award winners.

As a recipient of this press release, we here at the Cayuga County Office of Tourism would like to cordially invite you to attend this event as well and to join us as we honor these important legacies. Light refreshments and snacks will be available.

When: Saturday, September 23rd at 10 AM
Where: NYS Equal Rights Heritage Center, 25 South Street, Auburn, NY, 13021

Please be aware that there will be some road closures near the building due to a 5K. We advise that you arrive early to avoid any delays that may result from this.
